Saturday was the first ever Lorain/Stonycreek hiking trails fall festival.
Despite heavy rain, crowds gathered to enjoy the beautiful October scenery in Lorain borough park.
This festival is a family friendly event that features a trunk-or-treat experience for the kids and live music and vendors for the adults.
Costumes were encouraged and the kids did not disappoint with their spooky creations.
Organizers share their happiness in the turnout despite the weather.
“We’ve had such a big turnout," said Amber Sanna, board member of the Lorain/Stonycreek Hiking Trails. "From the start of today, I was really concerned that the weather wasn’t going to work out. It got a lot nicer looking on the hourly forecast, earlier today it was a lot nicer but it’s still raining, and we still have people here. It’s a great opportunity to just have an exciting day. To celebrate fall, it’s the first day of October. Get your costumes out and come down and have fun.”
All proceeds of the festival go towards trail maintenance and the building of a new amphitheater.
