Pittsburgh, Pa (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Pirates announced Thursday that team president, Travis Williams, has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a news release on the team's website, Williams began displaying symptoms on Monday and is now “on the road to recovery.”
“Fortunately," Williams said, "I followed the critical health and safety protocols that we have put in place, including wearing a mask as required, maintaining safe social distance and, upon the onset of symptoms, immediately isolating myself and getting tested, which has prevented further impact to others."
The Pirates have reported NO additional positive tests within the organization, the release adds.
The Pirates wrap up a three-game series against the Cleveland Indians Thursday night, first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
