Wawa planning to open new store across from Sheetz in Benner Township, official confirms

The popular convenience store chain Wawa is planning to open a new location in Centre County, according to an official in Benner Township.

The official says that while the company's plans are still in their infancy, they will be discussed at Monday night's supervisors meeting.

According to the official, the store would be located across the street from the Sheetz along Benner Pike, between the Dunkin' Donuts and Fulton Bank.

Wawa has over 900 locations, mostly on the eastern portion of the state, as well as in New Jersey and Delaware.

This would be the first Wawa in our area, and would result in the three competing Pa convenience store chains, Wawa, Sheetz and Rutter's, being located within a half-a-mile of one another in Benner Township.
